State Rep. Dean Kaufert is aware of criticism surrounding the “Castle Doctrine” self defense bill he championed, but he remains convinced the new law is sorely needed.
“Some people have strongly objected, but for the most part it has been very positive,” said the Neenah Republican. “A lot of people have been waiting for this. They hope they never have to use the law, but it provides them with a sense of protection if they ever have to use a weapon.”
